Please reach out to us at alyswimscornwall@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Aly swims Cornwall believe a swim is an opportunity to learn something new and enjoy the exhilarating feeling of the sea and, most importantly, leave with a smile on your face. It's all about offering guided fun swims with coaching.
The in-water coaching is unique and not often offered: we love it because it allows Aly to observe swimmers above and below the water; demonstrate technique; and being in the water alongside you helps to add that element of security. It also means Aly is right there to spot wonderful sights such as Cornish king crabs, fish, starfish, beautiful different seaweed and those playful, shy, seals!
We can also offer extra services such as Sports massage, Personal Training & Fireside chats.
Please check the calendar, select dates you are interested in and drop us a message via the contact us above. Alternatively email us via alyswimscornwall@gmail.com and we'll send you a booking form.
We will update the calendar with numbers available on each trip as bookings are made until the trip is full.
The minimum unaccompanied age requirement for swimming at Aly Swims Cornwall is 18 years old. If you are a competent younger swimmer with an accompanying adult, please give us a shout to discus options.
You must be able to swim 400m continuously to be able to book onto any of Aly's swims.
We keep our class sizes small to ensure personalised attention and instruction. For the social swimming trips there are 5 swimmers spaces available. The intermediate and triathlon trips there are 8 swimmer spaces available.
We offer 3 different trips: Social, Intermediate and Triathlon themed. The main difference is the level of swimming and experience you wish to have.
Social is recommended if you're new to sea swimming and/or want a relaxed slower pace to enjoy the sea. If you're a head up breaststroke swimmer, slow front crawl swimmer or slow lane pool swimmer this is for you.
Intermediate is for those who swim regularly, are used to open water and are looking for longer sea swims, confidence building, technique improvement, skill analysis. On the whole, the pace will be quicker than the social swimming experience.
Triathlon themed - not just for triathletes. Like Intermediate this experience is for those who swim regularly but would like a trip with an opportunity to try triathlon specifics which they may encounter on a triathlon such as deep water starts, buoy turns, sighting, drafting, transitions.
Please drop us a line if you want to check which is the most suitable for you.
We want you to be comfortable swimming in the sea. A swimming wetsuit is always a good addition but if you're used to swimming in cold water in a swimming costume then that's fine too. On the booking form please remember to indicate your cold water experience.
A tow float is a helpful safety item, and one we'd recommend, but if you don't have your own we have a few we can lend out.
A silicone swimming hat and pair of good clear googles so you can see all the sea has to offer.
Warm gear for after your swim (even in summer months): warm jacket; warm clothing; flask for a warm drink; hat/gloves.
Beach shoes are a useful addition for pebble beaches.
But we're happy to help with all these elements just ask :-)
